Gary Davis,
Consulting Partner,
The Big Kahuna

Gary is the original founding member of Kahuna and has more than 40 years of experience in the natural gas industry. He began his career in 1978 with Marathon Oil as a Plant Engineer at the Yates Gas Plant, a sour gas processing facility with Claus Sulfur Recovery supporting an oil field producing in excess of 100,000 Bbl/Day. In 1980, Gary went to work for Western Gas Resources as their Chief Engineer and after more than 18 1/2 years of service, Gary left his position as Senior Vice President of Production, Engineering, Safety and Environmental to pursue other endeavors.

In 1999, Gary was approached to build, own and operate the Bazor Ridge Processing Facility, a state-of-the-art sulfur removal facility near Jackson, Mississippi. As a result, Gary formed Kahuna Gas, LLC. This facility, located in Wayne County, Mississippi was designed to treat 25 MMSCFD of hydrocarbon-rich gas and condensate containing 20% H2S. Acid gas containing 93% H2S was compressed, liquefied and injected into a disposal well. Kahuna Gas owned and operated this facility until July 2004 when it was sold. Upon the sale of Kahuna Gas, the founding partners created Kahuna Ventures and expanded upon their operations experience to provide project engineering and execution consulting services.

In 2021, Gary decided it was time to hang up his hard hat and enjoy the golf course. He still plays an active role at Kahuna and we still see him on a weekly basis, but Gary is now enjoying his much-deserved retirement.
